News and Updates

Since we are expecting another round of wintery mix this weekend and you might be stuck in the house here are a couple of things to keep you busy.

1. it would be a good time to tackle that square for our Guild Display at MLH for June 2017.

Remember all squares are due at the February meeting.  We would like you to provide us with a 12 x 12 finished square.   Your finished square with seam allowances should measure 12 x 12  and based on this photo.

Any technique can be used to complete this square.

If you cannot make the February meeting, get your square to someone that is coming, mail it to me, or let me know and I will come pick it up.

2.  Snow Dyeing.  Why not, we have plenty of it.  Did you know that you can dye wool fibers and silk with Kool-Aid.  Yes you can, kind of scary if you think of it, people drink this stuff.

Here is a video on the process:

and, you could use Ritdye on cotton.  Here is some information on that. https://www.ritstudio.com/2016/02/05/snow-dyed-t-shirts/

Well, that should keep you busy this weekend.

Don't forget that:

Monday, December 19, 2017 Audrey will have a Knit-Night.  So if you are looking for a diversion from all the Holiday preparations why not stop by for a quiet evening of knitting and conversation.

January 2, 2017 Pat G will host the Weaving Study Group.  The group is studying Bumberet. The new issue of Handwoven has an article on Bumberet. Pat has hers on the loom, and from the pictures she has shared it looks really kind of nice.  Why not come by and join us or just come and see what we have been up to.
